Plantheon Nitroblend, 30g

Description

Plantheon Nitroblend for living ground cover and active nutrient cycling

Plantheon Nitroblend, 30 g, is a nitrogen-fixing cover crop seed mix for establishing living cover on exposed soil. It is suitable for growers who want to maintain biologically active beds, raised beds, greenhouses, larger planters or Living Soil systems. The plants cover the soil, support soil life and provide additional organic matter when incorporated.

Living protection for the soil surface

The seed mix develops into dense companion growth across previously uncovered soil. This helps protect the surface from drying out, surface sealing and erosion. In larger containers and beds, the ground cover supports a more balanced soil environment while making use of open spaces between the main cultivated plants.

Legumes support natural nitrogen fixation

Nitroblend contains various legumes and companion plants, including clover species, alfalfa and vetch. This plant group supports natural nitrogen fixation within the soil. Its roots and plant matter also encourage soil biology, humus formation and natural nutrient cycling. The mix therefore becomes a living part of the growing system rather than serving only as a surface covering.

Maintain as living cover or incorporate into the surface

You can keep Nitroblend growing as permanent companion cover or work the plants lightly into the upper soil layer at a later stage. Soil organisms then break down the plant residues and return them to the natural nutrient cycle. In larger indoor setups, the mix can be used in a Living Soil Bed for grow tents.

Sowing and maintaining even moisture

Scatter the seeds evenly over moist, loose soil. Press them down lightly or work them into the surface layer. Keep the soil evenly moist until the seeds have germinated. A controllable irrigation system for plant cultivation can help maintain the necessary moisture without excessively saturating the soil.
