Jaune Précoce Yellow Bell Tomato, an ancient tomato variety
The Jaune Précoce Yellow Bell tomato is a very old variety with indeterminate growth. It is a traditional tomato cultivated in the Appalachian region of the United States for generations and was formally introduced in 1986.
The Jaune Précoce Yellow Bell Tomato, with its mild and delicate flavour, is highly suitable for making sauces and preserves, while also being perfect for raw consumption in salads. The plant produces clusters of 5 to 12 bright yellow, pear-shaped tomatoes, each measuring approximately 5-6 cm.
Seeding is recommended from February onwards, once the risk of frost has passed. Transplanting should be carried out when the plants have developed two pairs of true leaves. While this variety adapts to any soil type, it thrives best in well-drained substrates rich in organic matter.
