The Funk

The Funk by Grand Daddy Genetics

The Funk is not built around sweetness or easy roundness, but around a line that gets its expression from dry OG tension and a more marked, slightly dirtier upper tone. The name already points in that direction, but the important part is that the plant carries it through in structure rather than leaving it on the label.

The cross of Tahoe and Ken’s OG holds together two OG poles that both bring pressure into the variety. Tahoe adds more sharpness, more forward pull and that clear Californian dryness, while Ken’s OG leaves enough body and density underneath to stop The Funk from ending in nothing but hardness. The result does not feel smooth, but deliberately angular.

In growth, the plant stays more gathered than expansive. It does not build a huge frame, but focuses on firm flower zones and a compact structure that suits an OG line with a medium yield window. You can tell the variety was not built for dramatic size, but for structure and expression.

With around 9 to 10 weeks of flowering, the timing stays in a solid range for a line carrying this much OG weight. Yield leans more toward the medium side, which fits well here because The Funk does not pull its appeal from raw bulk, but from profile, resin and a more pressurised overall presence in the plant body.

The Funk comes through as a dry led Grand Daddy Genetics OG line with Tahoe sharpness, a Ken’s OG base and a flower picture that works more through tension and density than through spread.
