Punky Lion

Description

Punky Lion by Samsara Seeds

Punky Lion is not framed by Samsara as a wide lazy cushion indica, but more as a compact built type with short internodal spacing and a strong central stem. The line reads more as pressure and density than spread. That also fits the description of a plant that is not overly bushy yet still carries plenty of resin and real mass.

On paper, the Matanuska Tundra x Chronic cross is listed as 100 percent indica, but the plant structure sounds less like a dull block and more like something with a firm central core. The thick main cola seems to be one of the defining points here. Samsara even mentions bud formation around the leaf area, which makes the overall picture denser again.

At 50 to 55 days indoors and late September outdoors, Punky Lion sits on the quicker side. The yield figures are not small either. 600 grams per square metre indoors and up to 900 grams per plant outdoors already show what this line was built for. Not novelty, but weight, resin and a fairly direct cycle.

The aroma side is slightly contradictory and therefore more interesting. The data table says noble wood, while Samsara’s description mentions a sweet fragrance with a light citrus side. That does not have to be a contradiction. It may simply point to a line that is not purely dark and blunt, even while sitting firmly in the indica corner.

Punky Lion makes most sense as a variety for people who do not need an inflated name to sell the idea. Its value is more in the dense build, the fast timing and the fact that Samsara clearly treated it as an award level indica line rather than filler.
