Made from compressed coconut fibres, the pellets expand into individual growing plugs when water is added. Peat-Free Coir with Starter Nutrients

These growing pellets are made from gently compressed coconut fibres and contain no peat. Once expanded, the loose coir structure allows young roots to establish themselves easily. A mild starter fertiliser provides nutrients during the early stages of seedling and cutting development.

Each pellet features a pre-formed planting hole and biodegradable cellulose wrapping. The wrapping holds the growing medium together while allowing roots to develop through the plug.

Ready for Planting in Minutes

Place the pellets in a suitable seed tray with their planting holes facing upwards. Add warm water, using approximately 0.75 litres for every ten pellets. Within around 10–15 minutes, the compressed coir expands into growing plugs. Drain away any excess water before planting.

Transplant Young Plants with Less Root Disturbance

Keep the coir evenly moist during propagation, but avoid leaving the pellets standing in water. Using a propagator with a humidity dome can help maintain a humid environment around young plants and cuttings.

Once the roots have developed throughout the growing plug, the young plant can be transplanted together with its coir root ball into a larger pot or, when conditions allow, directly into the garden.
