AutoPot 1Pot XL extension kit – add another 25-litre growing position to your system

The AutoPot 1Pot XL extension kit adds another 25-litre growing position to an existing AutoPot irrigation system. It is designed for growers who want to expand their setup gradually while automatically supplying larger individual plants with water or nutrient solution. The tray, pot, AQUAvalve5 and the necessary connection fittings are included. A separate reservoir is not supplied with this extension module.

Plant-controlled irrigation with AQUAvalve5

The AQUAvalve5 regulates water flow using the natural gravity pressure from the connected reservoir. No pump, electricity or timer is required for the irrigation function. The valve allows water to enter the tray to a depth of approximately 20 mm before closing. It only opens again once the plant has used the available supply. Each connected growing position can therefore respond independently to the water consumption of its plant.

25 litres of root space with flexible connections

The round growing pot provides a 25-litre capacity and sits in the matching 1Pot XL tray with lid. The tray has a footprint of approximately 380 × 285 mm. Connection parts include 1 m of 9 mm pipe, a 9 mm tee connector, a 16–9 mm tee connector and a 16–9 mm cross connector. This allows the module to be incorporated into suitably configured 9 mm or 16 mm pipe networks. Additional tubing, valves and fittings are available in the AutoPot accessories range.

Root control and initial setup

The supplied Root Control Disc helps restrict roots from growing out of the pot and into the tray. A replacement Root Control Disc for 1Pot XL is also available separately. AutoPot recommends free-draining growing media for this system. After potting, water the plant through from above and allow it to establish for around 7–10 days before activating the automatic supply. The compatible AutoPot AirBase for 1Pot XL can optionally be used instead of a drainage layer at the base of the pot.
