A practical propagation setup for managing cuttings through the rooting stage

The Propagator Set for Cuttings, soil combines the main equipment needed to start and manage fresh cuttings in one compact package. It includes a propagator, Clonex rooting gel, Jiffy peat pellets, a Birchmeier hand sprayer and plant labels. This makes the kit suitable for newcomers as well as experienced growers who want a convenient setup for maintaining humidity, organising different cuttings and managing the early rooting stage.

Controlled humidity with adjustable ventilation

The propagator for cuttings measures approximately 38 × 24 × 17 cm and accommodates at least 20 propagation pellets. Its transparent lid allows light to reach the young plants while helping to retain humidity inside. Sliding vents in the lid allow the fresh-air supply to be adjusted as the cuttings develop. Two channels in the base collect excess irrigation water, helping to prevent the propagation pellets from remaining permanently saturated.

Rooting cuttings in Jiffy peat pellets

The kit contains 100 Jiffy peat pellets made from compressed, nutrient-rich peat. After watering, their diameter increases from approximately 3.6 cm when dry to around 4.0 cm when expanded. A thin protective net keeps each pellet together, allowing well-rooted young plants to be transplanted with the pellet intact. The included Clonex 50 ml is a ready-to-use rooting gel containing 3.3 g/l indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) for application to the freshly cut stem.

Manage moisture and keep different cuttings organised

The Birchmeier Foxy Plus hand sprayer provides a convenient way to mist plants and the inside of the propagator. Its container holds 0.5 litres, the plastic nozzle is adjustable and the sprayer can also be used upside down. The 100 white GrowPRO plant labels make it easier to distinguish varieties, parent plants or different propagation dates.
