Plantheon K2 Mykobacto, 15 g, is a concentrated soil activator containing arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and a range of Bacillus cultures. It is applied directly to the root zone when planting or transplanting. The product is suitable for both new and experienced growers who want to introduce selected microorganisms into soil or Living Soil systems.

Three mycorrhizal fungi and 13 Bacillus species

The blend contains Rhizoglomus irregularis, Funneliformis mosseae and Funneliformis geosporum. These arbuscular endomycorrhizal fungi can form a symbiotic relationship with suitable plant roots. Their fine network of hyphae extends the area explored around the roots and can support access to water and nutrients.

The mycorrhiza is combined with 13 Bacillus species. The finished product contains 2,000 mycorrhizal propagules per gram, while each listed Bacillus species is present at 2.6 × 10^7 CFU per gram. K2 Mykobacto therefore places both fungal and bacterial cultures within the rhizosphere, the biologically active area immediately surrounding the roots.

Localised application when planting or transplanting

Apply K2 Mykobacto directly to the roots or place it inside the prepared planting hole. Position the plant as usual, then water the growing medium thoroughly. Follow the quantity stated on the product packaging.

This localised application is useful because arbuscular mycorrhiza requires contact with living roots to develop. Placing the product close to the roots gives the fungi and the plant an opportunity to establish their association without unnecessarily distributing the inoculant throughout the entire container.

For Living Soil and organically managed soil systems

The product is particularly well suited to Living Soil mixes and biologically active substrates. It can also be applied when moving plants into a suitable soil-based growing medium. K2 Mykobacto is intended as a microbiological addition to the root zone; the plant’s main nutrient supply should still follow the chosen substrate and feeding system.

When using a ready-made soil that already contains a substantial microbial inoculant, check its composition before combining additional products. This helps you apply the cultures purposefully and avoid unnecessary overlap.
