Obsession is a feminized sativa-dominant variety from The Grateful Seeds, a Barcelona-based seed bank focused on resin and terpenes. It brings together a sweet, gassy profile with THC around 22% and a balanced effect, ideal for growers seeking showy buds, abundant resin, and a plentiful harvest.

Genetics: Jealousy F3 x 26mm

Obsession is born from the cross between Jealousy F3 as mother and 26MM as father, both from the bank’s own line. From Jealousy it inherits the characteristic Sunset Sherbert profile and the dark, almost violet colorations that dominate the plant; 26MM, known as Grateful’s resin queen, contributes notes of gas and candy plus an extra dose of terpenes. One source places it at around 60% sativa, while others simply catalog it as a sativa/indica hybrid. Its structure is tall, with marked stretch during the first weeks of flowering.

In cultivation: vigorous and high-yielding

Indoors it flowers in 8-10 weeks and yields around 500 g/m². Outdoors it’s harvested between late September and October, with yields up to 800 g per plant in warm, dry Mediterranean climates. Its strong stretch through the third week of flowering makes a double net advisable to control vigor and support dense, heavy buds. It prefers sunny, well-ventilated environments: compact buds can be sensitive to humidity and mold if air doesn’t circulate. Its difficulty is considered medium, with differing opinions among sources about its suitability for beginners.

Flavor and effect: candy, gas, and creamy nuances

On nose and palate, it stands out with a blend of sweet candy and gasoline, with the Sunset Sherbert/Gelato background and creamy, earthy, slightly fruity nuances. The effect is described as balanced and long-lasting: it provides a certain mental clarity without being overly sedative, accompanied by gentle body relaxation, in line with its sativa-dominant profile and THC near 22%.
