Hokkaido Japan Regular by ACE Seeds
Hokkaido Japan Regular is a rare hemp landrace from the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido. ACE Seeds lists the available population as a second preservation generation, or P2. The line has a rare and comparatively uniform genetic background and is clearly distinct from modern European or Russian industrial hemp cultivars.
Hokkaido Japan develops thick stems, large dark leaves, medium to long internodal spacing and sturdy secondary branching. Its morphology initially appears broad-leafed and compact, while flower development is more elongated and sativa-like. Due to its semi-autoflowering tendency, the plants begin flowering comparatively early outdoors.
ACE lists a flowering period of approximately six to eight weeks and an outdoor finishing window in August to September. The line shows high resistance to powdery mildew, botrytis and cold, average-high resistance to white fly, and average resistance to spider mites and heat. This makes it particularly relevant as a preservation and breeding line for medium and northern latitudes.
The population contains three documented cannabinoid groups. Depending on the individual plant, the overall ranges are 0.1 to 5.5% THC, 2 to 12% CBD and 0.05 to 3% CBG. Hokkaido Japan is therefore not a completely uniform CBD line, but a population-based hemp genetic with different chemotypes that could be separated and stabilised through further selection.
The aromatic expression is generally rough and only lightly refined. ACE describes geranium, wild mountain spices and primarily alpha-pinene. Individual plants from the cannabinoid-rich group may develop much stronger and more complex aromatic profiles. The central value of the line lies in its rare origin, early maturation, resilience and chemical diversity.
