Bluelab pH 7.0 Calibration Solution provides a defined reference point for calibrating pH meters and probes. With a reference value of pH 7.0, this buffer solution helps maintain dependable measurements and reduce inaccuracies caused by calibration drift. It is particularly useful when monitoring the pH of irrigation water and nutrient solutions. Suitable for beginners and experienced growers, it is an essential part of regular maintenance for compatible pH meters.

pH 7.0 as the First Calibration Reference

For Bluelab pH instruments, calibration begins with the neutral reference point of pH 7.0. A second calibration point is then used to adjust the instrument across the expected measurement range. For readings mainly below pH 7.0, Bluelab recommends using a Bluelab pH 4.0 calibration solution as the second reference. For readings above pH 7.0, a pH 10.0 buffer solution can be used instead.

Regular Calibration for Accurate Readings

Over time, deposits and normal electrode ageing can affect the performance of pH probes. Bluelab recommends calibrating its pH instruments before initial use, whenever readings appear unusual, after cleaning and generally every 30 days.

Always use fresh calibration solution and ensure the probe is clean before starting. Follow the calibration instructions provided with your meter and avoid pouring used solution back into the original bottle.
