Chikamasa PST-8 Pruning Shears – controlled pruning with a reinforced steel blade

The Chikamasa PST-8 Pruning Shears are compact, robust hand pruners designed for trimming plants, smaller branches and woody stems. Their slim cutting blade provides good control when working around dense growth, while the sturdy construction makes them suitable for regular plant maintenance. Whether you are tending plants in a garden, greenhouse or indoor growing space, the PST-8 helps you remove unwanted shoots, shape plants and make accurate pruning cuts.

High-quality carbon steel blade for precise cutting

The 45 mm cutting blade is manufactured from high-quality carbon tool steel. Its relatively slim profile helps it enter branches cleanly and allows you to position each cut accurately. This makes the shears particularly useful for removing woody shoots and thinning out densely growing plants.

A reinforcing rib near the blade pivot provides additional structural strength. This design combines a narrow cutting edge with the stability required for routine pruning tasks.

Compact dimensions and durable handle construction

Measuring 190 mm in overall length and weighing 160 g, the PST-8 is easy to handle and position around plants. The handles are made from steel plate with a plastic coating, providing a sturdy construction and a comfortable surface to hold during cutting.

Manufactured in Japan, the PST-8 features an integrated blade construction rather than a replaceable blade system.

Practical plant maintenance and blade care

The PST-8 is particularly suitable for pruning branches and woody plant growth. For more delicate work around leaves and flowers, the Chikamasa B-600H Trimming Scissors make a useful companion. You can also explore our range of harvesting scissors and pruning tools for different cutting tasks.

After use, remove plant residue and moisture from the blade. Keeping the shears dry and maintaining the carbon steel cutting surface will help protect the blade against corrosion and preserve its cutting performance.
