Plagron Bat Mix, 50 litres – organically pre-fertilised growing medium with bat guano

Plagron Bat Mix, 50 litres is a ready-to-use, organically pre-fertilised growing medium for potting and repotting flowering plants. Its blend of peat, perlite, worm castings and bat guano combines an open substrate structure with a substantial nutrient supply lasting approximately six weeks. It is suitable for growers looking for a thoroughly pre-fertilised option from the range of soil growing media.

Open structure with perlite and worm castings

The growing medium contains 10% perlite. These mineral particles help keep the peat blend open and support aeration around the root zone. Worm castings are also included, contributing to soil life and the water-retaining properties of the substrate. Further growing media and plant nutrients can be found in the Plagron soil range.

Organic pre-fertilisation for approximately six weeks

Bat Mix is pre-fertilised with 10.5 kg/m³ of organic fertiliser with an NPK ratio of 5.5-11-5.5. Bat guano is an important component of the nutrient blend and naturally contains phosphorus and potassium. Depending on the condition and requirements of the plants, additional feeding is needed after approximately six weeks.

Consider the rich nutrient charge when working with young plants

Due to its substantial initial fertilisation, Bat Mix is not intended for very young plants without suitable preparation. Plagron recommends flushing the growing medium with water before use to remove immediately available nutrients. For sensitive young plants, a more lightly pre-fertilised medium such as Plagron Bio Light-Mix may be more suitable. Larger growing projects can also use the pallet with 60 × 50-litre bags.
