Aqua Master Tools KCI – KCl storage solution for pH electrodes

Aqua Master Tools KCI is a KCl storage solution for pH electrodes that are specified for wet storage. It is poured into the electrode’s protective cap to keep the sensitive measuring tip hydrated between measurements and during longer storage periods. The solution is available in 100 ml, 500 ml and 5 litre sizes to suit different levels of use.

Store pH electrodes correctly between measurements

After measuring, rinse the electrode thoroughly. Pour a small amount of KCl storage solution into its protective cap, then insert the electrode so that the measuring tip remains in the liquid. Rinse the electrode again before its next use. Used solution should not be poured back into the original container, helping to avoid contamination of the remaining liquid.

For suitable pH meters and electrodes

The solution is intended for pH probes whose manufacturer specifies storage in KCl. One example is the Aqua Master Tools P50 Pro2 pH meter. Always follow the instructions supplied with your particular electrode, as some modern probes are specifically designed for dry storage and do not require storage solution.

Storage of the solution

Aqua Master Tools recommends closing the container immediately after use and storing the solution at 15–25 °C. According to the manufacturer, the solution is traceable to a NIST standard. The three container sizes allow you to choose an appropriate supply for the number of pH electrodes you maintain and how frequently they are used.
