Plagron Seedbox for an organised and controlled start from seed

The Plagron Seedbox is a complete propagation kit designed for germinating up to 12 seeds. It includes a growing tray with a transparent lid, 12 peat germination plugs and 250 ml of Plagron Seedbooster. This gives you the main components required for the germination stage in one coordinated set. Managing moisture and temperature during germination

For the initial preparation, Plagron recommends mixing 125 ml of Seedbooster with 125 ml of water and distributing the solution evenly over the plugs. Once they have absorbed the liquid, any excess solution is poured away. The seeds are then planted approximately 5 mm deep before the transparent lid is fitted to close the growing tray. The manufacturer recommends an ambient temperature of 20–24 °C during the germination stage.

Ventilation and light once seedlings emerge

According to Plagron, seeds may begin to germinate after approximately 4–7 days under suitable conditions. Once seedlings start to emerge, the transparent lid is positioned slightly askew on the tray. This creates small openings that allow fresh air to reach the young plants. Moving young plants on from the germination plugs

When the seedlings grow high enough to reach the lid, it can be removed completely. Once roots begin to grow outside the germination plugs, the young plants are ready to continue in a suitable growing medium.
