Northern Lights #10 is a well-regarded strain celebrated for its happy, relaxed and talkative effects and beginner-friendly growth.

With a THC of 20% to 25%, it is a great choice for anyone after a strong, relaxing experience.

Northern Lights #10 was created more than 25 years ago by the Dutch breeder The Flying Dutchmen. It carries Afghani/Skunk genetics and is one of the most acclaimed strains of all time, with a sweet, fruity profile and hints of lemon and citrus, known for a powerful, relaxing, calming effect and a sweet terpene taste.

It is one of the best strains to grow indoors, a fast-flowering plant that produces a large harvest. Fungus- and pest-resistant, it is ideal for beginners in cannabis growing.

Origin

Northern Lights #10 hails from Amsterdam, crafted over 25 years ago by a renowned Dutch breeder. It inherits its exceptional qualities from the world-famous Northern Lights (NL), which originated in Seattle.

The feminized seeds are the product of expert crossbreeding between a robust Thai sativa, similar to Thai Fantasy, and a pure Afghani landrace similar to Skunk 1, giving a strain noted for remarkable resilience and potent, relaxing effects.

Its genetics make it highly sought after by breeders and consumers alike. That powerful lineage has made it a staple in many cannabis projects, such as Northern Lights x Amnesia Haze. Known for disease resistance and strong effects, Northern Lights #10 remains a popular choice for anyone after reliable, high-quality seeds.

Northern Lights #10 Sativa or Indica?

Northern Lights #10 is predominantly indica, 75% Indica / 25% Sativa, celebrated for its deeply relaxing effects. It is a quintessential indica, offering deep relaxation and tranquility.

With a genetic base built for a serene experience, it embodies the classic traits indica enthusiasts appreciate, a great choice for anyone after a calming session.

Northern Lights #10 Effects

The effects of Northern Lights #10 are led by its predominantly indica nature: a soothing experience of deep relaxation and calming euphoria, with a happy, talkative edge.

The effects go beyond the body for a harmonious, pleasurable session. Enthusiasts value it for the calm, content state it brings, a preferred choice for relaxation and stress relief. Effects vary from person to person.

Flowering Time

A main advantage of Northern Lights #10 is its fast flowering time, typically 7 to 9 weeks, a preferred choice for growers after quick, high-yield results with minimal effort.

It thrives indoors, where controlled conditions enhance resin production and bud density. Outdoors it performs best in warm, dry climates, producing high yields of potent, aromatic buds. Its resistance to pests and diseases adds to its appeal for growers of all levels.

How to Grow Northern Lights 10 strain

Northern Lights #10 seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions. The plants are moderately easy to grow and hardy, though it is always worth guarding against pests. A few methods help retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your buds:

• Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
• In our customers’ experience with Northern Lights #10, good technique can increase yields by up to 20%.

For indoor cultivation, we advise wide, vertical spaces and the ScrOG method to obtain a uniform canopy and build up the lower flowers. If you plan to grow these feminized seeds outdoors, we also have an indoor grow guide for optimal cultivation anywhere in the world. Feed quality nutrients through the seedling, vegetative and flowering stages. Indoors, set up good tents, fabric pots, LED lighting, an air extractor and a carbon filter.

Keep daytime temperatures between 68 and 80 ℉, and night temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day. These plants prefer low humidity: 55 to 60% in the vegetative phase, around 40% in flowering, and down to 30% by harvest.

Outdoors in the northern hemisphere, sow in April for a harvest in September, at about 21.16 to 28.22 oz per plant (600 to 800 g). Indoors, the cycle runs 7 to 9 weeks with yields of 1.64 to 1.97 oz/ft² (500 to 600 g/m²).

Optimal Climate for Cultivating

Northern Lights #10 thrives under fairly specific conditions. A tropical climate, with dry, hot summers and mild, wetter winters, is ideal. The recommended range is 70 to 85 ℉ (21 to 29 ℃), with plenty of sunlight during the growth periods. Aim for moderate annual rainfall of around 14 to 30 inches (350 to 760 mm), and use well-drained soil to prevent root rot.

In the United States, the prime states include California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Florida and Texas, which offer the mix of heat, sunlight and conditions Northern Lights #10 needs to bloom to its potential. If you live in one of these states, or can provide similar conditions, you will bring out the iconic earthy-sweet flavors and potency of the strain.
