Check soil pH easily and assess lime requirements more accurately
The Neudorff Soil pH Testing Kit for 8 tests provides a straightforward way to determine the pH of cultivated soils using a colour reaction. It is suitable for garden soil, potting soil and other soil-based growing media and does not require an electronic meter. This allows you to check whether the acidity of the soil is appropriate for your plants and use the supplied reference table to assess whether liming may be required.
Read the pH value using a simple colour reaction
For each test, fill the testing tube with approximately 10 mm of the soil sample, then add the supplied distilled water up to the 35 mm mark. Add one portion of pH soil test powder, close the tube and shake vigorously for approximately 30 seconds. Once the solution has settled and cleared, compare its colour with the scale printed on the packaging. The kit contains sufficient testing material for eight applications.
A useful basis for managing soil conditions
Soil pH affects the availability of various nutrients to plants. Testing can therefore help you assess the characteristics of your growing medium before applying lime or making other soil adjustments. The supplied leaflet also includes a table for determining lime requirements.
