Milwaukee pH51 for reliable pH checks in irrigation and nutrient solutions

The Milwaukee pH Meter pH51 is a compact, waterproof handheld meter for checking the pH of aqueous solutions. Indoor and outdoor growers can use it to test irrigation water or fully mixed nutrient solutions before feeding plants. Its pH 0.0 to 14.0 measuring range and replaceable electrode make it suitable for routine checks as well as for growers who want a meter that can remain in service when the probe eventually needs replacing. Practical range and accuracy for routine measurements

The pH51 covers the full pH 0.0 to 14.0 range with a resolution of 0.1 pH. Milwaukee specifies an accuracy of ±0.1 pH at 25 °C. Readings are shown directly on the LCD, making it straightforward to check changes in irrigation water or nutrient solution. After adjusting a solution, you can measure it again to confirm the result; suitable products can be found in the pH correction range.

Manual two-point calibration

Calibration is carried out manually at two points using adjustment trimmers inside the battery compartment. For measurements below pH 7, the meter is first calibrated with pH 7.01 buffer and then with pH 4.01. For applications above pH 7, pH 10.01 is used as the second calibration point. Regular calibration with fresh buffer solutions helps maintain consistent measuring conditions.

Replaceable electrode and correct storage

The pH51 uses the replaceable MA73600 pH electrode, so a worn probe can be changed without replacing the complete meter. After measuring, the electrode should be rinsed with water and stored moist. Milwaukee recommends keeping a few drops of storage solution or pH 7 buffer in the protective cap. Distilled or deionised water should not be used for storage. A suitable option is the KCL storage solution for pH electrodes.
