Jiffy tørvepiller, 100 stk.

Beskrivelse

Jiffy peat pellets for straightforward propagation from seeds and cuttings

Jiffy peat pellets are compact propagation media made from compressed, nutrient-rich peat. They take up very little space while dry and expand after watering to form a convenient root plug for seeds or cuttings. This makes them suitable for anything from a few young plants to larger propagation batches. Pack sizes of 10, 100 and 1000 pellets are available.

From a dry pellet to a ready-to-use growing medium

Before use, place the pellets in a suitable tray and add water. As they absorb moisture, their diameter increases from approximately 3.6 cm when dry to around 4.0 cm, depending on the degree of expansion. The seed or cutting can then be placed directly into the moist peat. For a tidy, protected propagation area, the pellets can also be used inside a propagator for seedlings and cuttings.

Protective net simplifies transplanting

A thin net surrounds the peat and helps the pellet retain its shape after soaking. Once the root system is sufficiently developed and roots become visible, the young plant can be transferred to a larger container together with the complete pellet. This keeps the propagation medium intact and avoids having to remove the delicate root zone from a conventional small pot.

Pack sizes for small and large propagation projects

The three available quantities make it easy to match the supply to occasional seed starting, regular propagation or larger batches. During rooting, the peat should be kept evenly moist without remaining waterlogged. Additional trays and propagation equipment can be found in the plant propagation supplies section. Once the young plants are established, they can be transferred into a suitable medium from the growing media range.
