Granny Candy by Humboldt Seed Company

Granny Candy is not just another candy name in the Humboldt Seed Company range. The cultivar traces back to Granny Candy Number 65, found in 2020 at Fire Mountain about ten miles inland from Eureka. Out of more than 600 plants, that phenotype held its place through colour, surface and terpene edge rather than story alone.

The work with Errl Hill Extracts and Fire Mountain Farms gives the line more weight than the nostalgic candy language first suggests. Over several years, phenotypes were dropped when they did not hold up in the field, in grow trials or in aromatic expression. Granny Candy reads more like pheno hunt material than a simple fruit cross.

Mountaintop Mint x W. Runtz Muffin explains the tension underneath. Mountaintop Mint brings the cool green side with fuel and mint, while W. Runtz Muffin adds candy, red fruit and modern flower mass. The result is a sativa dominant line that stays bright without feeling thin or lightweight.

The calendar stays short and field friendly. 50 to 55 days of flowering and an outdoor window from September 20 to October 5 place Granny Candy in an early slot. The flowers are described as extremely frosty purple red spears, slightly greener in warmer conditions, with a separate bud type formation that does not read like a standard compact Kush flower.
