AutoPot Auto3 XL FlexiPot: three plants in one compact tray

The AutoPot Auto3 XL FlexiPot is a gravity-fed irrigation system for three plants grown in 20-litre fabric pots. All three FlexiPots sit within a shared tray and receive water or nutrient solution through a single AQUAvalve5. It is particularly useful for indoor growers who want to position three plants closely together while reducing the number of separate trays and valves in their setup.

Three FlexiPots in a shared tray

The Auto3 XL tray measures 114.5 × 38.5 × 12 cm and holds three 20-litre FlexiPots side by side. Compared with using three separate XL modules, only one tray and one AQUAvalve5 are required. This means fewer individual components to install, clean and maintain. The tray lid also helps to keep light and debris away from the irrigation area, while the moulded base is designed to minimise standing water.

Automatic irrigation with AQUAvalve5

The AQUAvalve5 regulates the water supply automatically without requiring an electric pump or timer. Water is delivered by gravity from an elevated reservoir. AutoPot specifies a minimum reservoir capacity of 50 litres for one Auto3 XL unit, making the 50-litre Autopot FlexiTank water tank a suitable option. The reservoir should be positioned at least 150 mm above the highest AQUAvalve.

20-litre FlexiPots with root control

The fabric pots allow oxygen exchange through their walls and support air pruning around the root zone. A PotSock fits over the base of each FlexiPot and helps prevent roots from growing towards the AQUAvalve area. For growers who prefer a reusable base inside the pot, the compatible round AutoPot AirBase for FlexiPot can be added separately.

Setting up the irrigation system

The tray should be positioned level before use, and plants should be allowed to establish in their pots before the irrigation system is switched on. AutoPot recommends free-draining growing media or suitable substrate blends. The supplied 9 mm pipe connects the AQUAvalve to the wider water supply; the filter and any additional connectors required for the individual reservoir setup are not included in the listed contents.
