Who is the XMax V3 Pro for? XMax designed the V3 Pro for people looking for an affordable, light vaporizer that is very portable and discreet – ideal if you are out and about a lot or just want something that sits easily in your hand or pocket. Full convection heating, a fast heat-up and an easy interface make it an excellent vape for most users.

On-demand convection vapour: new in this version is on-demand mode, which heats the herbs or concentrates for only 30 seconds at a time. This reduces waste, as the oven (0.15 g capacity) only heats while you use it. If you prefer the oven to stay hot, use session mode instead (4 or 6 minutes).

As a convection vaporizer, the XMax V3 Pro passes heat to the material through hot air. This gives better flavour, more even vaporisation and more vapour than conduction vaporizers, which touch the material directly. The vapour then travels through an insulated air path (no contact with electronics or metal) before it reaches the mouthpiece.

Fast heat-up: choose the mode and one of five temperature steps between 100 °C and 220 °C; it is warm in just 15 seconds. Its compact size makes it light and pocket-friendly, and its discreet look appeals to anyone who wants a device they can quickly tuck into a hand or pocket.

Not just for herbs: the included wax cup lets you vaporise concentrates such as wax and oil – fill the cup, insert it and start vaping. Note that concentrates need higher temperatures than herbs.

Mouthpiece: the magnetic mouthpiece has a scraping tool for easier cleaning and stirring. The heat-resistant plastic mouthpiece comes apart for thorough cleaning, which stops residue building up.

Battery: a high-quality, rechargeable, removable 18650 battery gives longer vaping between charges – about 50 minutes of use per charge. The new USB-C port charges a fully drained device in about two hours.

Build: a large aluminium body makes sure just the right amount of heat reaches your material, and a ceramic heating chamber gives better flavour with precise temperature control. The large 0.96-inch OLED display shows the set mode/temperature, the current temperature and battery status. The device measures 2.7 x 2.4 x 15.0 cm.

Easy to clean: after use, simply brush the stainless steel chamber and screens; for build-up, use a cotton swab with a little alcohol. The ceramic and stainless steel vapour path can also be removed for a full clean after longer use.

V2 Pro vs V3 Pro: the V3 Pro is smaller than the original V2, with a smaller chamber and an 80% shorter heat-up time, but it still holds enough for a session (0.15 g). It also uses convection heating, so it gets more out of your herbs.
