Purple Paro Valley by Mandala Seeds

Purple Paro Valley Feminized by Mandala Seeds comes from a sativa landrace collected in the Paro Valley of western Bhutan. The original line grows at around 2,500 metres above sea level, which gives this variety an unusually strong outdoor logic. Dry periods, monsoon rain, cooler phases and changing weather are all part of its background.

The variety is only a few generations away from its original habitat and was hybridized to improve yield compared with the pure landrace. At first glance, the plant body can look rather fine, with flexible branches and an open frame. This movement is part of the line’s origin character and helps it handle wind and rain better than many rigid compact plants.

Purple Paro Valley shows very high mould resistance and remains relevant where humidity can become difficult. Mandala places the variety up to around 56 degrees northern latitude, which makes it especially useful for northern outdoor windows and less predictable seasons. Support is still advisable when strong storms are expected, particularly with larger plants and longer side branches.

The variety mainly shows green and purple phenotypes. Green plants stay shorter, flower faster and build more compact flowers. Purple plants develop longer internodes and need more attention to height and guidance in pots or greenhouse settings. LST, an early cut and removing lower branches can help keep the structure cleaner and easier to manage.

The aroma profile stays closely connected to the Paro background. During flowering, spicy lime notes come forward, supported by sweet, minty, hazelnut like, lavender like or tea leaning facets depending on phenotype. Purple Paro Valley stands as a resilient Mandala line with Himalayan background, broad phenotype range and a plant frame made for demanding outdoor conditions.
