Milwaukee MW100 for reliable pH monitoring of irrigation and nutrient solutions

The Milwaukee MW100 pH Meter is a portable digital instrument designed to measure the pH of liquids. With a measuring range of 0.0 to 14.0 pH, it is particularly useful for checking nutrient solutions in hydroponic systems and irrigation water used with soil or other growing media. Its external electrode makes it straightforward to take measurements directly in your sample, while the large digital display provides a clear reading.

Straightforward pH monitoring

The MW100 provides a resolution of 0.1 pH and an accuracy of ±0.2 pH at 25 °C. This makes it suitable for regular checks as part of day-to-day plant care. To take a reading, immerse approximately 2.5 cm of the electrode tip in the liquid and wait for the displayed value to stabilise. Manual two-point calibration

The meter uses manual two-point calibration. The first point is adjusted at pH 7, followed by a second calibration using a pH 4 solution. Separate offset and slope trimmers allow the meter to be adjusted directly. For routine calibration, the Milwaukee pH 7.01 buffer solution and Milwaukee pH 4.01 buffer solution are suitable choices.

Replaceable external electrode

Rather than having a permanently integrated sensor, the MW100 uses the supplied Milwaukee SE220 pH electrode connected via a BNC socket. Its approximately 1 m cable provides useful flexibility when measuring in reservoirs and other containers. The probe can also be replaced independently of the meter. Its gel-filled, double-junction construction is designed for low-maintenance use. After measuring, the electrode should be kept hydrated in a suitable storage solution in accordance with the manufacturer’s care instructions.

Portable battery-powered design

Power is supplied by a 9 V alkaline battery, with the manufacturer specifying approximately 300 hours of operation. A low-battery indicator helps you identify when replacement is required. The compact housing makes the MW100 convenient to move between different plants, irrigation reservoirs and growing areas.
