China Yunnan regular

Description

China Yunnan Regular by ACE Seeds

China Yunnan Regular by ACE Seeds is a regular variety for growers and breeders looking for a rare East Asian landrace line with its own botanical identity and strong breeding value. Within the ACE catalogue, it holds a special place because it does not behave like a classic Afghani hashplant or a typical tropical sativa, but instead brings together traits of both directions in a clearly regional and highly individual form.

In cultivation, China Yunnan most often shows a robust, compact, and resin-rich plant development with broader leaves and a clear hashplant-like appearance. At the same time, more sativa-leaning expressions can also appear within the population, showing taller, more branched, and narrower-leafed forms. This range is exactly what makes the line especially interesting, because it represents a true population-based landrace with readable internal variation rather than a standard hybrid bred for strict uniformity.

Flowering is generally relatively quick, the plants develop abundant resin, and they respond especially well to stable temperatures, dry conditions, and a solid nutrient supply. Under cooler finishing conditions, total production may decline somewhat, while resin quality often improves clearly. This response alone shows that China Yunnan is valuable not only as a finished variety, but also as a genetic working base for structure, resin, and ripening behaviour.

One of the defining traits of China Yunnan is its unusual position between indica-like substance and an Asian sativa note. This appears not only in plant structure, but also in its aroma, which is usually penetrating, woody, resinous, and highly individual without fitting neatly into familiar western categories. It is precisely this hard-to-copy individuality that makes the line especially valuable within the ACE catalogue.

Its chemical logic is also noteworthy. Most plants tend toward high THC with low CBD, while occasional individuals can appear with a more elevated CBD component. For that reason, the line is relevant not only for growers interested in traditional Asian genetics, but also for breeders who want to work with population-based diversity and unusual chemotype potential.
